Lakeland Classics Trophy

The 2005 series of six races in the Lakes was won again as last year by Andrew Schofield, Borrowdale, and Jackie Lee, Eryri. Each secured their hold on the Trophies by winning both the 1st and 2nd Super Long races - Duddon Valley and Ennerdale; the 3rd SL race Wasdale being a British & English Championship race in 2005.

‘Scoffer’ thus joins a select group of Male fell runners who have won all three Super Long races in their careers – Billy & Gavin Bland, Andy Styan and Simon Booth. Similarly, Jackie joins just two other Ladies – Nicola Davies and Emma Moody – who have also achieved this distinction.

Congratulations to all 44 runners who completed the series this year, including 11 Ladies, 4 of them from the English Champions, Ilkley. Ten club Teams completed the series won by Borrowdale.

The Lakeland Classics Trophies and category prizes will be presented to winners at the FRA Annual ‘Do’ on 19th November.

The Lakeland Classics Trophies recognise performance in a series of six Lakeland races. Perpetual mounted slate trophies are presented to First Male, Female and Team and ten limited edition Bentham Pottery Mugs are awarded to category winners.

Entry free. Best three performances count and runners must complete a minimum of three superlong or two Superlong and one Long race.
