After a very wet start to the day, the rain stopped and the sun came out to make ideal running conditions, if a little muddy, for the Middle Fell Race. The race was won by Matthew Fraser (Keswick) with CFR veteran Alan Bowness in second place. Natalie White (Kendal) was the first lady. The team race was won by Keswick (25 points) with Ellenborough in second place (48 points) and CFR third (59 points). Forty one runners took part, including 7 ladies, 9 Vets 40 and 9 Vets 50+.

Thanks to Nick and Karen Speed-Andrews (The Screes Inn) for providing the venue, the tatie-pot and some of the prizes and also to everyone who helped the organization on the day, especially the children who manned most of the 9 gates across the valley.

The race was once again organised by the Hughes family and friends.
