Due to Fallen Trees and environmental issues on the usual race route, Flower Scar Fell Race will be taking a slightly shortened route this year, avoiding the forest area completely.

As a result of this late route change, the navigation section will be scrapped and the route will be fully flagged throughout for this year only. Route details will be posted on the Todmorden Harriers website ASAP and a link to the new route can be found below:

The trial race for the International U18 Mountain Running Cup, to be held in Sakuzzo, Italy, will be Todd Crag on 7 May (not Great Whernside as stated in the FRA Calendar).

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP RACE - DATE CHANGE

The Helm Hill race (last in the series) has been re-scheduled to 3rd July.

Just before Christmas, Joss was taken into hospital with a suspected stroke. He was subsequently assessed as to the cause and has now started what will be a tiring course of treatment and physio.

He is in good spirits and, as expected, determined as ever.

We know that the fell-running community will want to send him their best wishes for a speedy recovery though we would appreciate it if he is not contacted directly at the moment.

With only one race to go (the Auld Lang Syne, on Penistone Hill on New Year's Eve) Darren Fishwick now has an unassailable position at the top of the table but has been out-Fishwicked by Wendy Dodds who has completed an amazing 32 races.

FRA Equipment Officer Steve Walthall, as the fourth member to complete 24 races, collected his special engraved glass at the Litton Christmas Cracker on 12th December.
