The British Hill and Fell Running Championships is organised on behalf of British Athletics by the Mountain Running Advisory Group (MRAG) Sub-Committee for domestic Fell Running Championships under UK Athletics Rules. It is sponsored by Pete Bland Sports.
There are four races each year - one in each of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. A runner's best three results count, but these must include one short, one medium and one long race. For more information, please see the UK Athletics website.

CHAMPIONSHIP RECORDS AND HISTORY

The 2023 British Athletics Fell and Hill Relay will be organised by Keswick AC, and will be held on Saturday 21st October 2023. The event will take place in Braithwaite, near Keswick with the venue to be confirmed in September.

The relay is held under UK Athletic (UKA) rules. All runners must be first claim members of the club they represent and must wear club vests. The use of GPS for navigation purposes, the use of running poles and the linking of runners by bungee are not allowed.
British Athletics medals will be awarded to members of the first three teams in the following categories:
- Open Men
- Open Women
- Over 40 Men
- Over 40 Women
Championship entries in these categories will only be accepted from clubs that are affiliated to the UKA for fell running. However, depending on the number of entries, the organising club may:
- accept entries from clubs that are affiliated to the UKA although not for fell running
- award prizes to other categories.
The Senior British Inter-Counties Mountain Race is organised on behalf of the UK Counties Athletics Union by the Mountain Running Advisory Group Sub-Committee (MRAG) of British Athletics.
SENIOR BRITISH INTER-COUNTIES MOUNTAIN RACE
The 2023 Senior British Inter-Counties Mountain Race (including Under 23s) will be held on Sunday 7th May at Sedbergh in Cumbria - 14km/760m (2 laps)

JUNIOR INTER-COUNTIES RACE
The 2023 Junior British Inter-Counties Race will be organised by Telford AC and will take place 24th June on the Shropshire Hills as part of the Junior English Championship race - runners can represent their county and also score club and individual points in the English Championships.
The Junior British Inter-Counties Race is organised by the Fell Runners Association (FRA) on behalf of the UK Counties Athletics Union.
