Cumbria Team Selection for the Junior Inter-Counties Fell Championship 2026

The Junior Inter-Counties Fell Championship 2026 will take place on Sunday 14th June at Edale.

Cumbria will enter U16, U18 and U20 male/female teams for this event with athletes being selected from their performances in the first three English Championship races - Howgills, Esk Valley & Ogden Water. Athletes don’t need to run all 3 races but doing so will demonstrate consistent performance and give a better chance of selection. 

If for any reason your junior athlete is unable to compete in any of these races but would like to be considered for the Cumbria team, please contact Cumbria team manager Sharon Taylor with recent fell running performances.

Final selection will be made following Ogden Water Fell Race on Saturday 30th May.

Athletes will be contacted following their selection and will be invited to represent Cumbria.

Each age group will have a team of 3 athletes and the top two scorers will count in the team competition.

Although you will race in the red Cumbria vest, your position will still count for your club championship points.
