FRA Presentation Dinner and Do
Dark Peak Fell Runners will be hosting the event at the Hilton Double Tree, Chesterfield Road South, Sheffield, S8 8BW on the 26th November 2022.
50 @50 competition
A strong wind made progress challenging at the final counter of the FRA [email protected] race series at the Auld Lang Syne on New Years Eve but for the first time I can remember it was an unseasonably warm wind.
Wendy Dodds celebrated her 33rd race of the series with her fancy dress and Darren Fishwick clocked up his 31st race, having raced every one since Wendy told him he was leading the table at Eldwick Gala. Both were awarded special trophies turned by Steve Wathall.
Darren was also the highest scoring male and it was a Chorley double as Katherine Klunder was the highest scoring female and was awarded another special lidded bowl.
Congratulations to all those age group winners who have been awarded Pete Bland vouchers.
The race results and overall status of the Championship competition will be posted here as the races take place.

Championship Records and History
Please see the Previous Results page for records of English, British and other championships back to 2004.
Category medal winners from the previous year are eligible for the 'Guaranteed Entry List', to enable them to enter English Championship races before entries open to the public. For an explanation of the system, see the relevant FAQ.
The preliminary English Championship Guaranteed Entry List (based on the 2021 Championships) is available at this link.
Applications for addition to the English Championships Guaranteed Entry List are now open.
For those who feel they are Championship contenders in 2022, but are not currently included based on 2021 results (for example: injury, illness, moving up an age category), applications for addition to the Guaranteed Entry List are now open.
Please send evidence supporting your application to the Guaranteed Entry List to [email protected] by 31st December 2021. Receipt by this date will ensure addition for all 2022 races (for successful applicants). Evidence can include change of age category and relevant race results. Decisions will be made by the FRA Championship coordinator, who will seek external advice where necessary.
Application for addition to the Guaranteed Entry List can be made during the season (i.e. if things are going better than expected!) In this case, please submit evidence supporting your application as above. In this case, guaranteed entry would only be for races where entries open after the date of addition to the Guaranteed Entry List. Decisions will be made by the FRA Championship Coordinator and a sub committee if required.
Guaranteed Entry for the British Championships.
For information on the Guaranteed Entry List for the British Championships, please contact the British Championships Sub-committee of the Mountain Running Advisory Group (MRAG) of UK Athletics. Information is available on the UKA website in the Mountain Running section.
"When registering for English championship races, please ensure you include your English Athletics running club. If you are not in such a club, please ensure you otherwise record yourself as a Fell Runners Association member, (assuming your membership is up to date), so that you are included in the competition tables. Please also otherwise remind yourselves of eligibility criteria as per page 55 of this year's handbook. Thank you for your support always. Good luck for 2022."
Carlos Bedson, Statistician.
